Clinical training with
a human core

I am Gloria Cruz. I work with adults who are ready to look at their lives with more clarity, heal what needs healing, and move forward with tools that actually work.

My story

Who I am and why
I do this work

I am a clinical psychologist trained in Mexico, with additional postgraduate work in psychotherapy, neuropsychology of child development, thanatology, transgenerational analysis, and a master's degree in Neuro-Linguistic Programming completed in Dallas, Texas.

My path into psychology started with a clear observation: people carry weight they never named. Grief that was never allowed to surface, patterns inherited without knowing, expectations that were never chosen. My work is about giving those things a place, a language, and a way through.

I run a fully online practice based in Mexico City, serving English-speaking clients across time zones. My approach is integrative — I do not fit every person into the same protocol. I fit the tools to what the person in front of me actually needs.

Therapy should not feel like reciting symptoms to a stranger. It should feel like being met by someone who takes your history seriously and knows what to do with it.

Academic background

The foundation of
my clinical practice

Licentiate in Clinical Psychology

Universidad Tecnológica Latinoamericana — UTEL. Foundation in clinical psychology, psychological assessment, and diagnostic and treatment approaches to mental disorders.

Postgraduate in Psychotherapy

Instituto Monte Albán · Mexico City. In-person clinical training in psychotherapeutic practice, therapeutic frame, transference and countertransference management, and case supervision.

Master in Neuro-Linguistic Programming

In-person training in Dallas, Texas. Advanced NLP tools applied within a clinical process — for working with limiting beliefs, behavior patterns, and blocks that resist purely rational approaches.

Postgraduate in Neuropsychology of Child Development

Comunidad de Aprendizaje Latinoamericana — CIL Colombia. Specific focus on autism spectrum conditions and behavior-analytic approaches applied to early developmental stages.

Thanatology Training

Clinical work with grief and loss processes — death, separation, relocation, anticipatory grief, and unrecognized losses. A specialization my practice returns to often.

Transgenerational Analysis

Study of trauma and inherited family patterns, invisible loyalties, and mandates transmitted across generations. Applied within the therapeutic process where the personal history alone does not explain what is happening.

My approach

How I work
in session

My integrative approach is not a random mix of techniques. It is a working frame where clinical psychotherapy provides the structure, and specific tools are added when they add value — not as marketing.

Psychotherapy as the base

The therapeutic space is the core. A place where you can speak with honesty and be heard without judgment, where your history is taken seriously.

NLP for concrete change

When we identify patterns that keep repeating — limiting beliefs, automatic responses, blocks — NLP tools help modify them in a practical and verifiable way.

Thanatology for grief

When pain comes from a loss — of any kind — the accompaniment is thanatological. Slower, less protocol-driven, more centered on integration than resolution.

Transgenerational analysis at the root

When patterns go further back than your personal history, we explore family history to see what got inherited, what repeats, and what can be transformed.

I do not follow a single school rigidly. I follow what the process needs. That requires training in several disciplines and the judgment to know when to use each one.

What I bring to the work

Principles that guide
my practice

Clinical rigor

Formal training, evidence-informed methods, and a working frame — not intuition dressed up as expertise.

Real presence

You are not talking to a checklist. Sessions are conducted with attention, care, and the seriousness your process deserves.

Direct communication

I tell you what I see. I do not soften observations to keep you comfortable. Comfort does not produce change.

Respect for the process

Therapy has an arc. It is not indefinite and it is not instant. I stay with you as long as the work requires and no longer.
